Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with care, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award all media South Carolina. Her work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and also to Dateline NBC.
